I purchased this hat at the London Marathon Expo and put it in my Kit bag to wear at the end of the marathon. It’s my 8th BP hat and will definitely get some good use over the summer months. Same great fit and quality as my others. It also now holds great memories of a great weekend!
It was good chatting to you Sarah, thank you.
I dreamt of a sub-4 hour-marathon, but never really thought I’d be able to do it! I got a ballot place for the 2026 TCS London Marathon and bought Ben’s Improver Plan because it gave a training structure for the finish time I was aiming for (rather than the beginner plan).
The training plan was perfect for me. I work a varied shift pattern and some weekends, so training had to fit in with that. I was able to use the plan and move the runs/strength training around to suit each week.
The marathon itself went exactly to plan in terms of the fact the training I had put in, based on the plan, meant I was able to finish in 3:53:45. I’m over the moon!
I have already downloaded a maintenance plan to keep me ticking over and give my runs some structure. I found it great to just look at the plan and be told what I was running that day! Highly recommended.
Thank you Ben!
Really happy with my running cap, perfect for the weather now it’s getting a bit sunnier, helps protect the back of my neck whilst still allowing airflow
Started jogging on a treadmill 9 months ago, after realising I was about to turn 50! Ran my first half marathon in November in 2hrs 3 mins. Then got inspired by your YouTube content over Christmas and decided I’d try a marathon. I downloaded this intermediate plan, as I wanted to try for sub 4hrs, so took your advice and trained and aimed for 3hrs 45mins to get that sub 4 clocking. Managed to follow this plan almost exactly, had to shuffle a couple of runs around and substituted a couple of long runs with half marathon races. It was tough and tiring at times, but I kept the faith and trusted the process. I ran the Blackpool marathon yesterday (in Ben Parkes running socks) and clocked 3hrs 36 mins!! I can’t thank you enough for inspiring me to realise a dream, which I didn’t think was possible a year ago. You have truly changed my life and turned me into a marathon runner! I’ve downloaded the advanced plan and now I’m looking for an Autumn marathon. Keep creating the YouTube content and inspiring people to achieve their dreams. For anyone wondering if these plans work, I highly encourage you to get one, they do work.
I don’t usually wear a hat while running but started to to keep the rain off my glasses, it rains a lot in Scotland.
I bought a cheap cap whilst on holiday last year, but it gets really sweaty and soaking when it rains.
I bought this cap the week before the Manchester Marathon at a reduced price, must be an older model I guess. So with Ben’s YouTube discount code it was great value.
As race day was dry I wore it backwards. It was really comfortable and although it was a warm day, I didn’t get the sense of sweatiness which I usually do with other headgear. All in all the cap will be a staple when training and racing from now on.
I have now purchased 2 plans from Ben. Firstly the L4 Marathon, which despite 2 weeks off the plan due to flu I managed a 2:59 in Manchester (previous best 3:16). I then purchased the L5 Half Marathon plan and took my time from a 1:25:06 to 1:21:46. The prescriptive pace charts and varied workouts really help focus you and enjoy the running. With 4 young children I have to juggle easy/long sessions about but I always stick to the weekly mileage and complete to the interval and tempo sessions. The strength workouts have contributed to keeping me injury free and can be done from the 'comfort' of home. Next up L5 Marathon plan. Onwards and upwards!
Had been searching for a nee cap for ages for Manchester marathon. Light and well made, this more than did the job! So good my friend bought one aswell! #Gettingitdone
Love these socks - pink is a fab colour. Also love you can mix & match sizes when you order a multipack. Looking forward to getting the xs when they’re released as I’m a size 6 & think they may fit even better.
These will be my choice socks for London Marathon!
