The in-between plans have overall less volume and intensity compared to our regular plans, but the fundamentals are the same. These plans are designed to keep your running fun and interesting, while giving you time to work on other areas in life before starting the training for your next race.

2:57:46 at the California International Marathon! In my fourth marathon I improved by over 15 minutes, from 3:13 using the level 3 marathon plan in April this year. Eight months later and one in-between plan followed by this level 4 plan I hit my new PB and I couldn't be happier. I increased the mileage by about 5% because my goal was on the faster end of the spectrum for this plan. That resulted in a race pace within 2 seconds per mile of my marathon pace in the training plan and a negative split of 4 minutes. Which means that I definitely had more to give. I've already purchased level 5 and I'm looking forward to laying down another PB in Chicago in 2025. Then enjoying Boston since I finally got that qualifier. Thanks Ben!
This plan looks great and finally I intend to stick to a plan. And how nice would it be when a plan comes together. For me it should all happen in the Bonn HM in April. So I count the weeks back and get it done!
I set myself the goal of achieving a 1 hour 25 minute (or quicker) PB at the Lanzarote Half Marathon in December 2024.
I found the L5 Advanced Plus training plan so easy to follow. The training was tough but any ambitious target always will be.
On the day I completed the Half Marathon in 1:25:21, finishing in 17th place. Given the temperatures on the day were around 24 degrees and the whole race is in to a headwind I am taking that to be mission accomplished.
I have already purchased Ben’s Inbetween Race place to follow while I decide on my next goal.

I just completed my first ever, full marathon this weekend (DEC 2024). I followed your beginning marathon plan completely and consistently to prepare for this race. The weekly words of encouragement and pacing were excellent. It was extremely easy to follow and I never felt overloaded. It was the perfect amount of runs, rest days, strength training, etc. Not only did I complete the race, I exceeded the time I thought I would finish by! Looking forward to trying the next level of training plan :) Thanks again!
These plans are simply outstanding.
This is now my second one as the previous one I got helped me run a sub 3 hour marathon. The plans are realistic, simple to follow and really do get the best out of you. Ben is also really really helpful in responding to any queries you may have!
