I picked up the L2 Half plan after completing London Marathon ‘22 to keep me focused & have something to train with across winter.
So far the plan has provided a lot of variety in the runs which keeps things fresh & better than some other plans that are just about putting miles in the legs.
Hoping to set some PB’s in early ‘23!
Great plan. It took me from a 2 hour half to a 1:45 PB in just 12 weeks. I couldn't be happier, even with the sore legs.
I was considering plans from other sources but after today's results I'm going to stick with what works. L3 here I come!
Excellent training plan! I used this to train for my latest half (Big Half 2022), and it was brilliant. Plan is nice and easy to follow and doesn't make anything too difficult. My previous PB was 1:58:36, I managed to knock it down to 1:46:08 after using this plan to train. I'd definitely recommend, and I'll be purchasing the next level in preparation for my next!
this is a great plan, I bought it 10 weeks out from the half marathon. The plan was great to understand, the sessions worked nicely towards my goal and I've managed to PB twice in the half marathon since going through it.
I'm unsure on how to progress now but will look into trying to beat my 5k time with one of your plans.
ps. Week 6 Session 1 (km) still has a mile listed as distance.
I have just completed this 12 week program for my 2nd Half Marathon. My first one I had trained for, but no where near enough, and i struggled around 17km and with knee pain after the run. I wanted a structured plan where I was told what to run each week so decided to sign up. This plan went above my expectations, it's so easy to follow and I highly enjoyed knowing exactly what my interval/race pace and easy runs should be.
Thank you so much Ben! I followed the plan for a sub 2 and trained for the 1.55 time and managed a 1.49 PB yesterday, feeling so strong, and smashing my previous time by 17 minutes!! Won't be the last plan of yours I follow.
I’ve just completed my first half marathon using this plan and got a time of 1hr 52 mins!! I was aiming for 1 hr 50 but was injured for 1 month of the plan so changed by goal to 2 hours, however on the day I felt great and went for it. This plan has massively increased my fitness and endurance. It’s super easy to follow and the variety of workouts make it really motivating. Print it off and stick it on your fridge! Thank you 😊
Half Marathon Improver - L2
This is my 3rd running plan.
I did the first half marathon plan and this definitely got me to a time and pace I was delighted with.
Then I did the 10km improver and knocked 5 mins of my PB.
Now hoping that this plan does the magic as the previous two have done.
Bought the sub 2 hour plan on a whim. Previously my fast half marathon was 2:35 so I thought if I managed even a sub 2:20 it would be an achievement. I had three injuries in between and missed the critical week 7-9 but got back on track with the last 3 weeks.
I'm happy to report back that I finished in 1:57:05 on a hilly course (750ft of elevation)
I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without this plan!
