Happy with the training plan. Helped me set new 5k PR. Also helped me run longer and injury free.
So pleased I chose this training plan for my first marathon. Easy to understand and swap about , but gets the job done. I missed about 4 shorter runs in total due to life getting in the way !! Finished in 4:36:22 at 50 years old . Will definitely be using Bens plans for all future events ,
Used this plan to build up to my first marathon after a knee injury last year. I did my DIY marathon at the end of lockdown, finished strong in 4h12. Now going to use the L2 to aim for that sub-4 next - thanks Ben! Great plan, would recommend for any first time marathoners.
Trained for my first marathon (Athens Marathon the Authentic) with this plan. I am very satisfied, i finished strong in 4h 42m. I modified the plan a bit to include more Hill Repeats as the course is hilly. Looking forward to trying L2. Cheers Ben!
I've downloaded this plan and the next one up, because although I have a few miles under my belt, I'm very slow, so I'd like to try the mileage of the second, with the pace of the first (if that makes sense). They look really clear and manageable so fingers crossed! The last time I did a marathon was in 2015, and it was very tough, completed in something like 5:38. Next year, in September, I am 50 and I would like to break 5 hours on my autumn marathon.
Am only two weeks in and yesterday I was able to run and if like I had not done a thing. So far so good, Thank you very much
The beginners plan was recommended by a friend , this is my first marathon and I was feeling completely overwhelmed, this plan has simplified my training and given me an understanding on how to pace my training runs. Highly recommend
This is a great plan for a beginner to tackle a marathon or any long distance which I am aiming to do over trails. This plan is more than a diary of activity as it has a comprehensive glossary and explanation of what and why you are doing the activity. The diary of activity is given in either miles or KM and has colour coding of training load. Above all it is simple to follow.
Haven’t started with the plan as yet got another 2 weeks but looks awesome.. very clear detail and easy too follow
